Chris Hemsworth’s doing the talk show rounds to promote The Huntsman, and he has the difficult dilemma of selling a movie that simply “exists.” So, he’s trucking out the parenting stories because, hey, why not. Moms love the Hemsworth brothers, and the mightiest Hemsworth of all grew up with siblings. Likewise, Chris and his wife, Elsa Pataky, are currently raising a trio of their own. Four-year-old India is hopefully bossing around her toddler brothers, but she’s also doing that thing kids do. They’re jealous of anyone who has something they don’t have, and kids freely speak their minds, so India told Dad what she would really want more than anything else:
“My daughter’s kind of envious of my boys at the moment. She came to me the other day and said, ‘Papa, I want one of those things that Sasha and Tristan have … the things in between their legs … and then I was like, ‘Well, girls have breasts.’ ‘I don’t want breasts! She goes, ‘I really want one I want a penis!'”
Well, hearing the p-word come out of a child’s mouth is almost always funny, but Hemsworth managed to — at least by his mimed account — keep a straight face. He sagely informed India, “You know what? You can be whatever you want to be.” The child was pleased with this answer, and she was free to swiftly move onto her next battle in life. Nice work, Dad.
