Heartbroken Commuters Found A Dog On A Busy Road With Its Muzzle Taped Shut

Dogs are man’s best friend. At this point denying that seems foolish or crass. Dogs were literally bred to be our best friend, to spend their time with us, to protect us, to help us out when we feel down and be our pal when nobody else is around. There have been so many huge moments in my life where I’ve been able to help define those moments by having my dogs around.

We humans aren’t the brightest lot and do awful stuff sometimes. Like stuff with duct tape. There was the weird viral sensation of “duct tape escapes” where people essentially pull a Steve-O prank on themselves, while other times duct tape is used to keep dangerous people at bay. But then sometimes people use duct tape for awful, awful things, like taping the muzzle of a dog shut. Again. According to News 12 Long Island a dog was discovered in Lindhurst wandering around with his mouth taped shut.

A local business owner spotted the dog and decided to take action. A dog owner himself, he took photographs of the dog, removed the tape and held onto the dog until officials could arrive. The dog is doing fine now, but the local SPCA is currently investigating the case. The man who found the dog believed that he saw the dog in a nearby yard the prior night, potentially with his mouth taped shut. Awful.
