If You’re Using Tinder Or Grindr, You Probably Have An STD

Officials in Rhode Island, the horniest of states (what they lack in land-mass they make up for in pants-mass), have connected a recent surge of STD cases to a rise in thirsty people using Tinder and Grindr to get laid — unlike the good ol’ fashioned days, when you had to work to get chlamydia.

Rhode Island’s Department of Health “experienced a marked rise from 2013 to 2014 in a number of STDs,” according to the Independent, including a 30 percent increase in gonorrhea and 79 percent increase in syphilis, which has replaced lobsters as the state’s largest export. Equally red, though.

The state said better testing had contributed to the rising figures, the blame was also put on “high-risk behaviors…including using social media to arrange casual and often anonymous sexual encounters.” (Via the Independent)
