What’s Going On In This Image Of A Woman Being Photobombed By An ‘Alien’?

Hooooly moly. A Russian businesswoman took a selfie on an airplane, and now the photo is lighting up the internet. Ms. Olseya Podkorytov of Kurgan, Russia, happened to take a photo of herself upon deplaning, and the results are uncanny. A mysterious figure appears in the background of the photo, yet no one (including Olseya) knows what the heck is happening. Olseya believes the presence looks pretty darn humanoid with stereotypically huge alien-eye shapes and a light bulb-shaped head.

Is this an actual alien, a flash of light affecting a human silhouette, or a photomanipulation? Perhaps none of the above. There’s also the possibility that Olseya flew with a dang ghost, who wanted to quickly hop off the plane like everyone else. Here’s the strangest part — Olesya said she was oblivious to the mysterious entity’s presence while taking a selfie, and she’s not even usually in the game of taking pictures of her own face. Apparently, she did so on this fateful day. Then people noticed weirdness after the photo hit ye olde internet:

“I uploaded the picture on my social media page, and then all the questions and comments hit me. Only after that I realized there was a bizarre-looking image of a creature behind me.”

The Mail rounded up a Russian aero-centre representative, Viktor Lunev, who had thoughts:

“Pilots and stewards are very superstitious and maybe there is a reason. In my experience I have never encountered anything of that kind. Maybe we could explain it with reference to some of the basic laws of physics.”

Real or fake, what do you think? Let’s check out few still images of this eerie, alien-like presence before making a decision.

Maybe a close-up view will help make things clearer. Nope, still looks like Xenu.

Here are some other instances of people being photobombed by mysterious entities. Who could forget the Solway Firth Spaceman photo taken in 1964? This photo has circulated throughout the public domain for decades.

These other pictures are mostly playful claims of hovering aliens … maybe.
