Daisy Ridley is 100% done with online misogynistic trash

Daisy Ridley went from a virtual unknown to a megastar virtually overnight when she was cast as Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There is nothing in the world that can prepare you for the white-hot spotlight of the world watching and critiquing your every move. Talk about trial by fire. I”d rather take my chances with the Rathtars.

But not only is Daisy Ridley contending with the life-altering experience that is starring in the biggest film franchise in history, she”s doing it on social media. And everyone knows there is a subset of the Internet that hates women with the fiery passion of a thousand Tatooine suns. These parasitic nematodes will latch onto the slightest imperfection before attempting to devour the host whole.

Daisy Ridley is having none of that. In an eloquent Instagram post, she pushed back at the body shamers, concern-trolls, and garden variety sexists.

Not that Ridley has much time to worry about the haters. Star Wars: Episode VIII is currently filming. On top of that, the actress is in the running to play Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. First reported by Deadline, whispers are being heard that Ridley is on the short-list, though no official negotiations have begun.

Personally I think she”d make a great Lara Croft. Having just finished playing Rise of the Tomb Raider, I found myself wishing for the upper body strength of the British archaeologist. Ridley already has that part down! Just look at her deadlift 176lbs. of hater tears!
