The obnoxiously long wait for the first official World War Z trailer, as opposed to the trailer for a trailer for a trailer for a Subway commercial for a radio jingle for a trailer, was worth it, now that Late Night with Jimmy Fallon has put together a redub, with all the expository dialogue replaced by Pee-wee Herman voices.
No matter what you think of the trailer itself, with sides seemingly split between people thinking it’s a bastardization of the METAL source material and people thinking it looks like the worst thing ever why would Brad Pitt do this to us, take a moment to appreciate the brilliance of Fallon undercutting World War Z‘s self-seriousness with his “I’m scared” voice — and then get back to wondering what the hell were they thinking.
