Instagram has a fairly strict no-nipple policy, one that’s often pushed by celebs like Rihanna and Chelsea Handler. On Monday afternoon, supermodel Chrissy Teigen pushed the limits to the extreme with this NSFW photo (click at your own risk) from W Magazine, saying “this story shot by #mertandmarkus for @wmag. Honored to be in the company of such gorgeous women! Makeup, #yadim and hair @jimmypaulhair – thank you, W Magazine and @edward_enninful! @imgmodels.”
In April of this year, Instagram updated their nudity guidelines.
“We know that there are times when people might want to share nude images that are artistic or creative in nature, but for a variety of reasons, we don’t allow nudity on Instagram,” the photo-sharing site’s community guidelines read.
“This includes photos, videos and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks. It also includes some photos of female nipples, but photos of post-mastectomy scarring and women actively breastfeeding are allowed. Nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is OK, too.”
The image is still up but it’s only a matter of time before Instagram cracks the whip.
