Did Ronda Rousey’s Ex-Boyfriend Say Too Much Here About Their Relationship?

Ronda Rousey has talked a number of times about her ideal man, and what she looks for in a potential suitor. Earlier this year, she went so far as saying she didn’t want a guy who was easily intimidated, both by her looks and (presumably) her strength.

“I wouldn’t waste time on a guy who was easily intimidated by me. There’s more intimidating things in life than me. So, if that stopped you already, then you’re just saving my time. There’s a lot of guys out there that look for less to feel like he’s more, and I want to find a guy that wants to be on my level and not somebody who wants to be more secure with himself.”

On Saturday, UFC commentator Joe Rogan spoke with Rousey’s ex-boyfriend, a man named Brendan Schaub. For those of you unfamiliar, Schaub is a regular on Joe Rogan’s podcast and a UFC heavyweight. He hasn’t fought in quite some time. In fact, his last fight came in December of 2014, a TKO loss to Travis Browne.

Now that you have some idea of who he is, allow him to weigh in on his relationship with Ronda Rousey and whether the two would get back together.

“I did her a favor, man. I’m not the guy for the job. I’m not, man. I’m too much (of a man). She needs a guy who’s gonna take a backseat. She also needs a guy who’s gonna say, ‘Yes, ma’am. Yes, ma’am.’ She’s surrounded by people that worship her and go, ‘Yes, yes, that’s a great idea.’ But when I went, ‘That’s not a good idea,’ now I’m a hater.”

Rogan, who is friendly with Rousey, stopped the conversation there: “I don’t think we should have this conversation out of respect for her because she can’t defend herself.”

For what it’s worth, Schaub didn’t say anything all that bad. Celebrities and athletes often surround themselves with so-called “yes men” for lack of a better term. It’s not the worst thing in the world, though it’s a bit contrary to what Rousey said in that interview with Conan O’Brien. Also, he wasn’t happy with media outlets putting words into his mouth.

Be that as it may, Rousey’s probably just looking for somebody who loves Pokemon and Saturday morning cartoons just as much as her.
