Apparently These Are The 21 Most Popular Sex Positions, From Back To Front

One would be hard pressed to find anything more subjective than a ranking of sex positions, but talking about the subject is nearly as fun as the act itself. Maybe not? Let’s try this anyway. Such a list materialized at Metro, which is a U.K. publication. Perhaps they feel a little differently about getting jiggy with it across the pond, or maybe the rankings simply reflect how everyone enjoys getting it on in a highly individualized manner. There’s also the possibility that the author randomly assembled the list — because she includes the “69” position. Many people agree that this position is better in fantasy than reality, which leads me to believe the original author geared the piece purely towards sensationalism.

Granted, when one writes about sexual positions, this isn’t exactly the stuff of academia, but we try to take it somewhat seriously at times. Science.

The fine folks at BroBible already added their take on the matter, so let’s get down to the promised rankings:

21. An*l
20. The X
19. Wheelbarrow
18. Headrush
17. Tea-bagging
16. Pretzel
15. 69
14. Spoons
13. V
12. Cunnilingus
11. Standing
10. Reverse cowgirl
9. Lapdance
8. Face-sitting
7. Hand job
6. Cowgirl
5. Blow job
4. Tit wank
3. Missionary
2. Face to face (sitting up)
1. Doggy

Would you have ever guessed that this list was written by a female? I suppose the placement of #21 may give that fact away, but there are some odd standout mentions here. The author ranked #4 far too high when there’s little value in the position for a woman. The placement of #5 tells me she wants to come off like a giver, but not too much of one, lest her real-life boyfriend should catch any ideas. Whereas the “X” and the “Pretzel” entries are mere space fillers and a way to flesh out a list because — let’s face it — no one actually does those positions (they simply exist in Cosmo’s monthly print installment of the faux Kama Sutra). Finally, #11 tells the audience she watches at least a little bit of porn. As for the top three positions, she’s probably playing it safe with the reader majority. Thoughts?
