So sorry, fans of early-’80s serial killer tropes. Looks like you may have to find a new favorite network show to watch.
It seems we have the first real casualty of the 2015-2016 TV season and it’s Wicked City, ABC’s steamy drama about a murderous couple terrorizing in 1982 L.A., and the cops following on their trail. The network is pulling the Ed Westwick/Erika Christensen vehicle off of its schedule posthaste, despite having only aired three episodes. Re-runs of Shark Tank will assume the Tuesdays-at-10 position as of next week.
The show, which also features Jeremy Sisto as a detective on the couple’s trail, bombed right out of the gate, flatlining this week with just 1.7 million viewers and a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49, as per EW.
There are still five other episodes of Wicked City already in the can, per the EW report. There is no word as of yet on if or when those will see the light of your TV screen, but it is likely they may end up on a weekend or streamed online.
