Silent Hills was supposed to be amazing. The pantsh*ttingly awesome-looking game would have starred The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus motion captured in a story written by monster talents Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. Then it was no more. We weren’t the only ones upset to hear about Silent Hills being canceled. An obligatory petition made the rounds, and del Toro himself said the cancellation made no sense. Now Norman Reedus is weighing in.
Reedus spoke to IGN about wanting to work with Kojima and del Toro again, saying, “I have faith that we, the three of us, can do something else,” adding later, “I just can’t see us not picking this up somewhere.” He was also impressed by the outpouring of support from fans, telling IGN his reaction to the groundswell of support was, “Holy balls. It has to happen. You need to do this.”
Sadly, we’re going to take a wild guess Konami isn’t listening to anything Norman Reedus has to say. They’re very busy pretending Kojima is just on vacation. It is quite the vacation.
Oh well, maybe we’ll get lucky and some spunky programmer will mod the spiritual successor Allison Road with a downloadable Daryl Dixon.
