Grand Theft Auto V is one of the biggest games of all-time, and Rockstar is making it even bigger once again with the Executives and Criminals update dropping on December 15. Finally, the 31st update to GTA V will let you run the online criminal empire you’ve desired since the game’s launch in 2013.
When GTA Online debuted, it was fun, but seemed to be lacking the personality and freedom expected of a true, living Los Santos. Crews were cool, but they meant little beyond XP boosts and leaderboard standings. Heists definitely brought people together for some huge scores, but money eventually became meaningless after years of bloody ATM deposits, and, as someone who has purchased Grand Theft Auto V on the Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, I’m eternally grateful that Rockstar has made their semi-regular updates free.
But still, something felt missing. Maybe it was the relatively small amount of choices for living spaces that were static and couldn’t become your own. Maybe it was the fact that you couldn’t hire your crew to roll with you on missions and earn a paycheck for doing so.
And there was a severe lack of luxury yachts that was unforgivable.
But now, in the Executives and Criminals update, you can finally get that yacht, customize your apartment (or house in the hills) and run a criminal organization that has Los Santos and its inhabitants under your thumb. We’re one step closer to the true Grand Theft Auto experience.
