By now you probably know that “affluenza” teen Ethan Couch is now safely in Mexican custody awaiting deportation after fleeing the United States to avoid the repercussions of allegedly violating the conditions of his probation. Early Thursday morning, Couch’s mother, Tonya Couch, arrived back in the United States, flown into Los Angeles where she was arrested on felony charges for allegedly helping her son escape.
But the internet quickly picked up on one not-so-subtle fact as the media was splashed with images of Couch being transported into custody: lady is a dead ringer for Carrot Top. No wonder the kid changed his appearance. Avoiding being spotted while you’re on the lam is one thing; getting mistaken for the son of Carrot Top is quite another.
At any rate, here are just a few of the reactions on Twitter:
One of these is 'affluenza' teen's mom Tonya Couch. The other is actor/comedian Carrot Top. You decide. pic.twitter.com/iWTo0aMOKY

Carrot Top trending because people think Affluenza Teen's mom looks like him. I guess it's going to be another iffy year.

So far Carrot Top himself has yet to respond on Twitter, but we will update if and when he does.
