We’ve posted quite a few Freddie Wong videos, and now he’s teamed up with Brandon Laatsch to create Rocket Jump. Their newest cool little film full of special effects is Old School Versus New School, which follows live-action characters from modern video games fighting the animated invaders from old school arcade games. It’s like what would happen if Lara Croft and Master Chief showed up to save New York City in the short-film-cum-Adam-Sandler-joint Pixels.
Old School Versus New School was sponsored by Internet Explorer. (LOL wut?) The music is by John Robert Matz and the short film stars the following modern video game characters:
- Master Chief (Halo) played by Ben Waller
- Cortana (Halo) played by Whitney Avalon
- Altair (Assassin’s Creed) played by Ronnie Shalvis (who apparently loves parkour and/or gymnastics.)
- Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) played by Leeanna Vamp
- Nathan Drake (Uncharted) played by Jessiah Ruiz
- The Scout (Team Fortress) played by Clinton Jones
- Leon (Resident Evil) played by Jack Conway
Check out the video below. We think you’ll enjoy it as much as we did, and if not, well, at least I got to type “short-film-cum-Adam-Sandler-joint”. It’s gonna be a good day.
