Remember a few months back when we brought you the story of Caine’s Arcade? Of course you do — your heart grew three sizes that day (uh, in a good way).
So what’s Caine been up to since becoming an Internet celebrity at the age of 9 for his awesome cardboard arcade? Well, he’s 10 now, quite a bit taller, been on TV, visited NASA, inspired a lot of kids to make their own cardboard creations and, apparently, is still running his arcade (which is now so popular you may have to wait hours to get in).
Caine also seems to have a knack for attracting cash. He’s now sitting on a massive college fund, and the makers of the Caine’s Arcade documentary have started The Imagination Foundation, a non-profit that fosters and funds kid creativity.
So yeah, this kid has had a busy year. Hit the jump for Caine’s Arcade 2, a new video that’ll get you up to speed on all the latest cardboard related happenings…
My favorite Caine-inspired cardboard creation? The Basset Hound carwash.
The Global Cardboard Challenge is on October 6th. Summon your inner 9-year-old and make something cool.
