This Groom Divorced His Bride On Their Wedding Night Because She Was Too Busy Texting To Have Sex

Let’s be real: The movies make wedding nights seem like spectacular sex-soaked extravaganzas that just won’t cease until either both partners are exhausted or the police are called. But in real life, weddings are so exhausting that all anyone really wants to do is get back to the hotel room, untag any unflattering photos on Facebook, and then eat a whole bunch of pizza until both parties pass out. One man, however, was upset by his new bride’s choice to text instead of consummating their marriage.

According to Daily Pakistan, the problems started when the bride and groom retired to their bedroom after the ceremony and the groom tried to get his new wife to engage in activities that didn’t involve her phone. Unfortunately, she wasn’t having it. Why? Because she was too busy responding to messages from friends who were just so happy for her. And maybe she just didn’t want to have sex? Who knows, what’s important here is the groom’s reaction:

A relative told Saudi daily Al Watan: “The groom tried to get closer with her and more intimate, but he was shocked when she ignored him, not responding to his words and actions.”

“When he asked her if her friends were more important than he was, the bride answered that they were.”

Every marriage, of course, has its own share of problems, but apparently this one was insurmountable to the angry groom. Allegedly he started yelling and then stormed out of the room demanding a divorce. And he was serious about it, too. Daily Pakistan reports that despite efforts to reconcile the pair, the groom insisted that he was done. Probably a huge relief for his bride. Considering how upset he got over texting, can you imagine how he might deal with more serious issues, like debating whose turn it is to clean the bathroom.
