For the now-famous members of the Oregon Militia life isn’t easy in prison while they await trial. For guys who occupied a government building and by all reports left it in shambles, the family is still banging on the same drum about the government being unfair and impeding on their rights. They still want their guns and are apparently not going to let a little thing like being locked up get in their way.

The latest report comes via Gawker and is about Ryan Bundy being upset over his lack of rights while in prison. Yes, you are reading that correctly; Ryan Bundy believes that while in prison, being treated like a prisoner is unfair and unconstitutional. His status report is rife with disdain and apparent lack of understanding of how prisons work. The first two lines alone are as dramatic as you’d expect.

My rights are being violated. My right to life is being violated.

From there he goes on to complain about his lack of religious freedom, his lack of ability to hang out with his brother, Ammon, and how he never waived his Second Amendment right (the right to bear arms). He even took the issue up with U.S. Marshals who explained the prison rules to him. It’s not clear what sort of treatment he was expecting while in jail, but he’s not receiving the treatment that he believes that he deserves.
