Harry Looks Rather Serious In The First Cast Photos Of ‘Harry Potter And The Cursed Child’

Ever since the initial announcement last summer, the new play from Harry Potter series author J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has excited fans and spurned critics alike. If you’re a hardcore Potter fan, you’re debating which organ to sell for those plane tickets to London. Get ready to decide faster, because the first official cast photos from the play are out, and they look fantastic. Especially a rather serious-looking Harry.

Little is known about Cursed Child‘s story. According to early press materials, the plot follows the Potter family 19 years after the climactic final battle with Voldemort and his Death Eaters in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Harry spends his days working for the Ministry of Magic and his nights with his wife, Ginny and their three school-aged children — James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna Potter. The middle child, Albus, figures into Cursed Child‘s plot, but the details remain scarce.

With the first public previews scheduled to begin in a week, the play’s official Twitter account debuted the first cast photos of Harry, Ginny and Albus for the world to see.

There’s Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter.

Sam Clemmett as Albus Potter.

And last but not least, Jamie Parker as the super serious-faced Harry Potter.

Meanwhile, playwright J.K. Rowling spent time on Friday tweeting at fans about how emotional Cursed Child will be.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child premieres on London’s West End at the Palace Theater on July 30.
