This was the scene at the El Paisano Mexican Restaurant early this past Saturday morning at approximately 2:30 a.m. — because nothing good ever happens after 2 a.m. — when an argument allegedly about salsa turned into a Category 5 brawl that damn near decimated the inside of the restaurant. Isael Rojas, who posted video of the incident on Facebook (which has now been viewed over 1.8 million times), later told Fox 4 News the fight happened “all because chips were $5 and they wanted the green salsa instead of the red.”
Uhh. It’s difficult to imagine how something as simple as a miscommunication over chips and salsa resulted in the insane, chair-throwing, table-flipping melee that takes place here. Given the timing, however, alcohol may have been a factor. Eventually the fire department shows up for some reason and not the dang police, so it’s unclear if certain parties are wanted for questioning by authorities. One would think that “destroying an entire restaurant over chips and salsa” would be an arrestable offense.
One thing’s for sure. For as someone says as the brawl eventually spills outside before breaking up after a couple of the aggressors get into a car and drive away: “It’s not worth it, man. It’s not worth it.”
