“The cat just goes at all of the dogs, not backing down.” https://t.co/9G7V2tqitO

Pit bulls often get a bad and mostly unfair reputation for being a vicious breed of dog, but that certainly was not the case for a group of pit bulls that were attacked, unprovoked, during a stroll in British Columbia earlier this week. The walking group, called Pit Bulls of Victoria B.C., had seven pit bulls with them when a cat popped out of someone’s yard and went berserk on the dogs.
One of the dog owners walking with the group, Kyla Grover, says that the dogs were walking by, just minding their own business when the attack occurred. Grover was injured when she attempted to step in and separate the animals:
The pit bulls and pit bull crosses were leashed and none of them fought back, Grover said. They just began barking after the attack began.
“The cat is swiping at them and latched onto one of the dog’s faces,” she said. “I got bit and scratched in the process of trying to separate them. I spent the whole night at emergency because cat bites are nasty.”
A dog named Bandida also had to go to the vet with injuries to the face she sustained during the attack, though Bandida’s owner is just glad that her dog didn’t lose an eye. Thankfully the cat’s owner, Del Thompson, was willing to fork over the money for the vet bills, which amounted to more than $200. Thompson says that cat, named “Baby” of all things, “is a watchdog and she doesn’t even know it.” He further explained by saying, “Cats and dogs don’t get along too well sometimes.”
That would certainly be an understatement! This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a cat wiping the floor with a dog, as we all remember the story of Tara the Hero Cat, who whupped on a dog who was attacking her family’s little boy. Yet a cat attacking a dog unprovoked — not to mention a group of dogs — is a different story entirely.
