One week ago, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump endured their first presidential debate, which saw Trump adopt an uncharacteristically civilized air for about 30 minutes, but by the final segment, she whipped out his disparaging comments on women and sealed a victory. Tonight, their vice presidential picks will have their lone chance (at least while they’re on the same stage) to prove that they’re the ideal guy to be the runner-up for the highest office in the land.
At 9 p.m. EST on the Longwood University campus outside of Richmond, Va., Indiana Governor Mike Pence will go toe to toe with Virginia Senator Tim Kaine. Both men have maintained a relatively low profile compared to their running mates — with Kaine diving deep into red-state territory and Pence laughing off messes and, uh, getting a haircut — which is to be expected. This is especially the case for Pence since anyone would be dwarfed by Trump, but tonight, both men will have a chance to strut their stuff.
The debate isn’t anticipated to contain major fireworks, but one never knows what will happen. After all, Kaine could whip out his harmonica, which would be a savage move. Even if you’re streaming elsewhere, we’d love to have you join us tonight.
