Two weeks after the death of Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez, the Miami Heat will pay tribute to the man before their preseason game with the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.

Various teams and players including the Miami Hurricanes (who wore stickers on their helmets when they played Georgia Tech) have honored Fernandez in recent weeks, showing just how much of an impact he had on the Miami community.

Via the Sun-Sentinel:

Heat players will warm up for the game in special shooting shirts that include a Heat logo, Fernandez’s initials and his No. 16 in a black circle.

There also will be a moment of silence to honor Fernandez, who died in a boating accident Sept. 25, the day before the Heat began their training camp.

Tuesday is the Heat’s first home preseason game, and their first formal event since the passing of the All-Star pitcher.

The Heat begin regular season play on Oct. 26 at Orlando.
