Vin Diesel announced via his endearingly looney Facebook page that Riddick is coming to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. As part of the advertising push, we’ve got a new poster and a short international trailer with French subtitles. (Full trailer here.)
Riddick is the third installment in Diesel’s passion project series. It’s been at least four years in the making. Then the production ceased in 2011 when the cast and crew were locked out of the studio over unpaid debts. They raised more money in 2012 finished the $38 million film it in time to release this September 6th.
And to think, it could have been finished years ago if they had just asked for a dollar from each of Vin Diesel’s 43 million Facebook fans. Yes, 43 million. Which means about 4% of all 1.11 billion Facebook accounts currently “like” Vin Diesel. We don’t have a joke for that, we just thought you should be aware.
