Fast National ratings for Thursday, July 17, 2014.
“Big Brother” and a repeat of “Big Bang Theory” were, again, Thursday's top shows, though a low repeat for “Elementary” and an up week for “Hell's Kitchen” knocked CBS into a tie among young viewers.
The “Hell's Kitchen” bump helped FOX's “Gang Related” to slight growth, while ABC's “Rookie Blue” and NBC's “Hollywood Game Night” were also up in some measures.
ABC's “Black Box” was down in the key demo and NBC's “Welcome to Sweden” and “Working the Engels” slipped in their second weeks.
On to the numbers.
Among adults 18-49, CBS and FOX both averaged a 1.3 rating for Thursday night, tops in the key demographic. NBC was third with a 0.9 key demo rating, followed by ABC's 0.8 key demo rating. The CW did a 0.1 key demo rating for Thursday and did the dreaded “0” share for the night.
Overall, though, CBS had first place alone, averaging 5.105 million viewers and a 3.3 rating/6 share for Thursday, nipping the 4.73 million viewers and 3.2/6 for ABC. FOX was third for Thursday with 3.78 million viewers and a 2.3/4, followed closely by the 2.1/4 and 3.22 million viewers. The CW averaged 479,000 viewers and a 0.3/1 for the night.
8 p.m. – CBS started the night in first overall and second in the key demo with repeats of “The Big Bang Theory” (7.2 million viewers and a 1.5 key demo rating) and “The Millers” (5.29 million and a 1.2 key demo). FOX's “Hell's Kitchen” was second with 4.865 million viewers and won the hour with a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49. NBC's “Hollywood Game Night” averaged 3.88 million viewers and a 1.1 key demo rating, topping the 3.745 million viewers and 0.6 key demo rating for ABC's “Black Box.” The CW's repeat of “The Vampire Diaries” averaged 510,000 viewers and a 0.1 key demo rating.
9 p.m. – “Big Brother” averaged 6.03 million viewers and a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 to comfortably lead CBS in the 9 p.m. hour. ABC's “Rookie Blue” was second with 5.31 million viewers and tied for second with a 0.9 key demo rating. FOX's “Gang Related” was third with 2.69 million viewers and tied for second with a 0.9 key demo rating. NBC got week-to-week declines for “Welcome to Sweden” (2.855 million and a 0.8 key demo) and “Working the Engels” (2.08 million and a 0.6 key demo rating). The CW's “The Originals” repeat averaged 448,000 viewers and a 0.1 key demo rating.
10 p.m. – “NY Med” won the 10 p.m. hour overall for ABC with 5.14 million viewers and finished second with a 0.9 key demo rating. NBC's “Last Comic Standing” averaged 3.32 million viewers for second and won the hour with a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. “Elementary” was third with 3.04 million viewers and a 0.5 key demo rating.
