Every time the zombie genre is played out, someone comes along and reinvents it. Turns out the undead are extremely flexible for a corpse sub-species without blood flow. While the modern cinema zombie started as a hungry, mindless beast, it has since splintered into everything from rage-filled running monstrosities to romantic-comedy leads.
”iZombie” takes another approach. What if being a zombie was more of a chronic medical condition, albeit one with a host of supernatural side effects? Loosely based on the Vertigo comic of the same name, the CW show follows Olivia “Liv” Moore (Rose McIver), a medical resident with the most blatantly foreshadowing name in recent history. When Liv”s life comes to an untimely end…and reanimation…she must leaned how to embrace her new circumstances.
“iZombie” lurches onto The CW on March 17 at 9/8c.
