The Force of Geekdom is, as ever, strong with Mark Hamill.
The Star Wars icon is launching a show on new SVOD service Comic-Con HQ. Called Mark Hamill”s Pop Culture Quest, the docu-style series features the actor talking about passionate memorabilia collectors and their collections – whether it be action figures, lunch boxes, Barbie dolls, toy cars, whatever. And, by the looks of the teaser for the show, he”s still looking for collectors to feature on the show. So if you”re a nerdy hoarder, this may be your way to meet Luke Skywalker!
Hamill himself has collected memorabilia, including comic books, toys, lunch boxes, records, puppets, and original artwork, since the early 1970s.
“I”ve been a collector all my life,” Hamill blurbed in a press release about the new series. “This show is a natural outgrowth of that passion. Now I have an opportunity to collect other people”s collections! I can”t wait to see what”s out there and share it with the world. Collectibles are a living history of who and what we are, so we just might learn something, but there”s no doubt we”re going to have fun!”
Hamill, who”s both hosting and producing Pop Culture Quest, will begin filming the show when he returns stateside this month after filming Star Wars: Episode VIII in the U.K.
