An unnamed buyer has purchased the Buffalo Bill murder house from The Silence of the Lambs for $195,000, down from an initial asking price of $300,000, realtor Dianne Wilk told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Wilk noted that the buyer wanted the house “because of The Silence of the Lambs, that's what piqued his interest, and that's how he found the home.”
The house, a three-story, four-bedroom Victorian built in 1910, is located in Layton, Pennsylvania, 30 minutes southeast of Pittsburgh. The exterior of the house hasn”t changed since the movie was filmed, adding to its macabre appeal. While the home”s foyer and dining room were shown in the movie, the cavernous basement featured in the climax was actually filmed on a soundstage.
May Unnamed Buyer enjoy many happy years in his new home.
