Hollywood director, writer, producer, and actor Garry Marshall has died at age 81. Marshall was best known for creating popular sitcoms like Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley as well as directing films such as Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries.
A true master of comedy, Marshall also created the television adaptation of The Odd Couple – which has since spurred a CBS reboot – and Mork & Mindy, both of which also became wildly popular hits that remain culturally significant.
Here are some selections from his wonderful and illuminating interview with Emmy TV Legends.
