Did you think the kerfuffle over The Nightly Show host Larry Wilmore's White House Correspondents' Dinner speech was over? Well, W. Kamau Bell may have just reignited it, and in one of the most awkward places possible.
Bell, who was on The Late Show to promote his new CNN series United Shades of America, did not take exception to Wilmore's use of the N-word when referring to the President, which was the problem many others had with the speech. No, he just didn't like “all the CNN jokes.”
“He said he remembers when CNN used to be a news network, and I feel like that's a shot at me,” Bell said. “And I just want to say I remember when the show that followed The Daily Show used to be funny.”
“OOOOOHHHHHH,” said the audience, as Colbert laughed nervously. As you may remember, he was the host of the show that used to follow The Daily Show.
