An Enormous Crowd Gathered To Honor The Brazilian Soccer Team Lost In A Plane Crash

The Copa Sudamericana final between Atletico Nacional and Chapecoense was scheduled to take place in Medellin on Wednesday night. Despite the game’s cancellation after a plane crash that claimed the lives of nearly the entire Chapecoense team and many others, fans showed en masse outside the stadium to offer support.

Even though there was no game, fans also filled the stadium.

Fox Sports Brazil, who had six employees on the flight, chose to air this during the time of the scheduled match.

Teams in the Brazilian league have petitioned for Chapecoense to be allowed player loans free of charge and not have to face relegation over the next three years as they rebuild.
