As you may have heard, teachers are among the greatest threat to America these days, according to anti-birth control right-wingers like Rush Limbaugh (He’s repeatedly asserted that teachers are “freeloaders” who are running an “easy money scam” on all of us because they only work 180 days a year), though Matt Damon begs to differ.
Yes, these men and women who go into debt getting a college education that allows them to earn a lower middle class income in exchange for the privilege of teaching the country’s spoiled, snotty-nosed brats how to spell will not stop until America crumbles. What are they doing now to achieve this? Registering students to vote, and Stephen Colbert, nor Florida Governor Rick Scott, will stand for it!
Reports Raw Story:
The segment featured Florida teacher Dawn Quarles, who registered her students to vote and now faces voting fraud charges and fines as a result. Quarles claims she was only trying to instill good civic values in her students, but the state of Florida is charging her a $1000 fine under new voting reform laws enacted by Governor Rick Scott. Prior to the passage of the new laws, people wishing to register new voters had one week between signing then up and registering them. The interval has now been shortened to 48 hours, a deadline that Quarles failed to meet.
