Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders may be neck and neck in Iowa and New Hampshire, but at least Clinton is winning at fundraising. George Soros just donated $6 million to her Super PAC.
According to The Washington Times, Soros gave this $6 million in December, in addition to the $1 million he donated earlier in the year to another Hillary super PAC.
Soros isn’t the only filthy rich person donating to the Clinton campaign. Haim and Cheryl Saban have donated $3 million to a Clinton super PAC, and Donald Sussman has donated $1.5 million
But Sanders isn’t hurting for cash. CNN reports that the candidate–who’s not a fan of super PACs–raised $73 million in 2015, and received another $20 million in January. There have been 3.25 million contributions from individual donors. All the while, Martin O’Malley hangs on by his fingernails, with his campaign $350,000 in debt.
On the Republican side, Marco Rubio is doing really well. Rubio raised $14 million in the second half of 2015, and has $10.39 million on hand. Jeb Bush’s fundraising prowess has suffered as he has fallen in polls, as has Ben Carson.
So, if you were wondering how influential rich people were in this election, look no further.
