For some reason, fantasy sports came up as a question in tonight’s Republican debate (blame CNBC). A moderator asked whether fantasy sports amount to gambling and if it needs regulation as a result.
“Well, first of all, I’m 7 and 0 in my fantasy football league,” Jeb Bush deadpans. Jeb Bush loves fantasy football, guys, but he still thinks it needs to be regulated. “Effectively, it’s day trading without any regulation at all.”
Chris Christie’s rejoinder is tonight’s “I’m tired of hearing about your d*mn emails” moment.
“Are we really talking about getting the government involved in fantasy football? We have $19 trillion in debt, we have people out of work, we have ISIS and Al Qaeda attacking us, and we’re talking about fantasy football???” he says to cheers from the crowd.
Unsurprisingly, Bush doesn’t shake Christie’s hand afterward.
