21-year-old Shailene Woodley seems poised for stardom if she isn’t already, already having had a critically-acclaimed, crying-underwater turn in The Descendants, plus upcoming roles in the Hunger Games clone Divergent and as Mary-Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 3. Woodley was recently the subject of a profile in Flaunt Magazine, and where her hot, young actress counterpart Jennifer Lawrence tends to come off down to Earth (see: Lawrence getting drunk with her Vogue interviewer for seven hours), Woodley comes off more… Earthy.
“I think everything about my lifestyle is fairly alternative. [LEzBO STUFF?! -Ed.] I gather my own spring water from mountains every month. I go to a farm to get my food. I make everything from my own toothpaste to my own body lotions and face oils,” she laughs at the long list. “I could go on for hours. I make my own medicines; I don’t get those from doctors. I make my own cheese and forage wild foods and identify wild plants. It’s an entire lifestyle. It’s appealing to my soul.” [rest of profile here]
I hope that by “medicine” she means, like, hash oil or ‘shroom butter. Because birch bark frappe and thyme-guano chutney tend to be much more effective at curing, say, bad vibes than inoperable tumors. But she’s 21, she probably has time to figure that out.
I feel her on the home-made cheese thing though. The other day I mixed up these two flavors of easy cheese with some mayo and dunked my french fries in it. It wasn’t as good as the regular easy cheese, but it was still pretty good!
Seriously though, I thank God every day that magazines weren’t asking me for my opinions on world events when I was 21. Most of my world view probably could’ve been summed up with “So… you wanna, like, make out?”
