Filming for the highly-anticipated (by nerd standard) or potentially-horrible (by purists who hate George Lucas or JJ Abrams standard) Star Wars: Episode VII is underway in the desert of Abu Dhabi (France, maybe?) and whether you’re excited or terrified of this film’s existence, you’re probably pretty curious to know what’s going on behind closed tents. Fortunately, in this world of nonstop paparazzi access to everything, the spying is already underway, and the fine folks at Getty had some brand new set photos available for the first time last night.
Now, I have to warn you, I fall into the camp of the Star Wars fans that are really excited to see this next chapter in the franchise’s great history, so I’ve been pretty hesitant about even looking at these images, let alone sharing them. But I’m just too excited, you guys, and I have to look! I mean, what’s that giant circle thing? Is it Han Solo’s orthopedic futon? Is it a giant Frisbee used by a new breed of humongous wookies? Is it a female AT-AT’s diaphragm? I just have to look at the rest of the photos and see what they reveal. Just once.
So if you’re curious, too, let’s look at these together for the first time. If you’re not curious, well, then you should know that there might be spoilers in here. I mean, there’s no way set photos are disappointing!
Ready? There’s no turning back now!
WHOA!

Holy crap, I can’t believe it. I feel like I just watched the whole movie. Those are the greatest set photos I’ve ever seen.
