After the jump, I’ve got a new video put out by DC Shoes (and Monster Energy Drink, I assume) featuring stunt/rally driver Ken Block drifting his tricked-out (I’m using that term correctly, right?) Ford Fiesta all over the Universal backlot. It’s actually pretty cool, and it makes you wish the Fast and Furious movies had more of this, and less of Vin Diesel and the Rock going chest to chest yelling “COME AT ME, BRO!” like they’re about to kiss. GRRR, I KISS GUYS A QUARTER MILE AT A TIME!
The driving starts at 1:25.
Filmed over the course of five days, director Ben Conrad
(Zombieland and 30 Seconds or Less) [as the VFX supervisor -Ed] and his team at Logan deliver a Hollywood caliber production complete with pyrotechnics, massive stunts and a series of unbelievable tricks.
Featuring robotic sharks, deranged zombies, and a hilarious cameo by the Epic Meal Time guys , Ken Block and his Hybrid FunctionHoon Vehicle (H.F.H.V.) bring the magic of Hollywood and gymkhana together.
I haven’t had a car for a few years because I’m a fruity San Fran librul now, but even I have to admit that this is pretty cool. It reminds me of how I tear ass all over the city on my mountain bike with road bike tires whenever I need to get somewhere, like to coffee shops or slam poetry competitions. I used to wheelie over curbs like a boss until I screwed up one time and fell on my chest and now I don’t do that anymore. Cool story, right?
