Tom Cruise tweeted out a teaser to Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation (that’s Mission Impossible 5 for the math savvy) over the weekend, and now the full-length version is online. This one was directed by Chris McQuarrie, who last directed Cruise in the underrated Jack Reacher. And, you know, also wrote The Usual Suspects, which you may have heard of.
At 52, Tom Cruise is still dodging squibs and running around with his top off and looks pretty good doing it (can you believe he’s only two years younger than Sean Penn?). This time around, the MI team (Cruise, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner) gets the band back together to fight a “rogue nation,” an “anti-IMF” “trained to do what we do.” The IMF here being the “Impossible Mission Force,” not the International Monetary Fund. Alec Baldwin plays a bad guy.
Naturally, with all that bad stuff happening, Tom Cruise has to bust out his motorcycle, hang off the side of a cargo plane, and take his BMW off some sweet jumps to keep the world safe from evil secret agents, as long as there aren’t any gays in there.
At some point, a pretty lady has to take her clothes off for some reason.
I believe that’s Rebecca Ferguson. She’s Swedish. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation opens July 31st.
I’m sorry for this.
