“Whitewashing”, for those unfamiliar, is the casting of white actors in adaptations of media that depict characters as other races. Probably the most popular example, in that it was the only thing anybody cared about, was “The Last Airbender”, M. Night Shyamalan’s last desperate bid for relevancy. Why do studios do this? Because they think white actors will make them more money.
