Dramatization.
After campaigning for two years to play The Rhino, Paul Giamatti landed the role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Now directer Marc Webb has tweeted a first look at Giamatti in character as Aleksei Sytsevich (before the transformation), and we have 16 additional set photos taken in Brooklyn, New York this weekend.
Most of these pictures come courtesy of Fan-Girl.org, who have 350 pictures total in their The Amazing Spider-Man 2 galleries here and here if you need 350 pictures for some reason. I don’t know, maybe to wallpaper a room with? We won’t judge.
First, here’s the official photo released via Twitter, in which you can see the tatted-up Giamatti screaming from the seat of a semi-truck. That barbed-wire tattoo on his forehead is a prison tat signifying a “life without parole” sentence.
Here’s another tattoo-related picture:
Is that a cat in a top hat tattooed on the back of his hand? OMG we totally match!
This next picture cracked me up. Between scenes, Spidey fan Giamatti was brushing up on some work-related reading. As CBM points out, he’s reading a reprint of Amazing Spider-Man #41, the debut issue for The Rhino.
Now we get to the action pictures, which may contain spoilers.
Spider-Man hops onto the hood of The Rhino’s semi-truck and simulates punching through the windshield. He also takes something from The Rhino which looks familiar…
Is that the Rhino serum from OSCORP?
It sure looks that way.
The captioned photos are on the next page.
Some of these Spider-Man pictures are Andrew Garfield and some of them are his faux -hawked stunt double. We couldn’t tell which was which once the masks were on. You know what they say. All them damn Spideys look alike. (It’s not racism if it’s true.)
“I’m outtie, but first I’mma poop on your hood.”
“USA! USA! USA!”
“Great. This is just great. At least it’s not merlot.”
Who is this imposter?
