Warner held live fan event (video below) to promote the Blu-ray release of Man Of Steel, during which he also revealed something about Batman vs Superman. Zack Snyder said, “Lex loves calling [Superman] an alien.” Yes, the director just confirmed Lex Luthor is in the sequel. That doesn’t necessarily mean those Bryan Cranston rumors are true (Cranston himself was surprised by them), but we can dream.
Some other casting news has come out this weekend, not from the fan event but from other websites. The Wrap reports at least three actors are being considered to play Dick Grayson, which jibes with the Nightwing rumors. The only actor they named is Adam Driver (pictured above), the Emmy-nominated Girls co-star and Marine veteran. Happy Veteran’s Day, by the way.
Adam Driver’s name was completely unexpected to us, and probably to him as well when his agent texted about an audition…
Another site — and take this with a grain of salt because it’s fan-generated, unpaid labor — claims Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl) and Ezra Miller (We Need To Talk About Kevin) are also in contention for Nightwing.
And what of those rumors about Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) finally being introduced to the big screen in Batman vs Superman? Variety reports Bond girl Olga Kurylenko, Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), and Gal Gadot (Fast and Furious) have tested or will test to play a “tall, brunette, athletic and exotic” lead in the film. She could just be a love interest and not Wonder Woman, of course. Variety also says Jaimie Alexander is out of the running because of her Marvel commitments. DC doesn’t like to share.
Batman vs Superman opens July 17, 2015, and here’s that live fan event video, if you’re interested.
