Want to see some not-actually-real primates speaking English and riding horses? Well, they probably have a theme restaurant in Florida for that, but there’s also this first trailer for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. And you don’t even have to go to Florida to watch it! (Disclaimer: They don’t show them speaking and riding horses yet, but it’s in the movie. GAH, JUST SHOW US THE COOL STUFF NOW.)
In this sequel to Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, the number of humans is dwindling from a virus of their own design. Gary Oldman and Jason Clarke are part of a group of survivors reaching out to Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his war-painted simian friends for a truce.
Fox released a 12-second teaser last week in which Clarke’s character yelled that he needs to speak to Caesar, implying that the ape now knows far more than the few words he spoke to James Franco. We’re getting a better idea of how advanced the apes have become in this first trailer, released just a few minutes ago.
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes opens July 11th, 2014.
