Michael B. Jordan seems to be a pretty hot commodity in the world of superhero movies at the moment. His name is being mentioned in some rumors in the wake of his “controversial” casting as Johnny Storm, which isn’t even slightly controversial to anyone who isn’t a racist. Seriously, a multiracial Storm family wouldn’t even be a change from the previous films. Why weren’t fans expressing this much outrage when half-Latina Jessica Alba was cast as Sue Storm in 2005’s Fantastic Four? Oh yeah, because she’s hot.
Michael B. Jordan, according to Latino Review, has met with Zack Snyder about a small role in Batman Vs. Superman. The alleged role would bring Jordan back for larger roles in upcoming DC films. No one knows what role he would play, but there are no shortage of guesses making the rounds. Guesses are like buttholes; they’re uneducated and and all but a rare few stink. Alas, it is my obligation as a investigative journalist lazy writer break them down for you.
- John Stewart/Green Lantern – 2011’s Green Lantern was a big flop, so it wouldn’t be surprising if Warner Brothers wanted us to forget about it by giving us a different actor as a different Green Lantern.
- Victor Stone/Cyborg – DC’s New 52 saw Cyborg in a much more prominent place within the DCU. He’s a founding member of the Justice League, and Michael B. Jordan has history with the character. He previously voiced Victor Stone in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox.
- Barry Allen/The Flash – Many people have speculated that The Flash would show up in Batman Vs. Superman, and Jordan is an actor who has broken racial barriers before.
- Dick Grayson/Nightwing – See Barry Allen/The Flash.
If the rumors are true, Jordan would be drawing even more comparisons to the previous Johnny Storm, Chris Evans. Evans has voiced or played six different characters in nine comic book/superhero movies, with two more scheduled to be released. A role in Batman Vs. Superman would be the fourth foray into the genre for Michael B. Jordan.
