I never thought we’d get to use this photoshop again, yet here we are.
When Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans debuted the record-breaking first trailer for Captain America: Civil War on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week, part of the interview slipped our notice. Three minutes into the video below, Robert Downey, Jr. mentions something about he and Chris Evans’ upcoming filming schedule just after fielding questions about shipping the same houseful of furniture to every movie set.
Did you catch that? “By the way, we are going to shoot in Atlanta again, you and I.” What movie is Robert Downey, Jr. referring to? Several Marvel movies can be ruled out, because they aren’t filming in Atlanta. It could be Avengers: Infinity War, but filming locations don’t appear to be set for it yet. In fact, Comic Book points out there are only two movies currently set to film scenes in Atlanta: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the Spider-Man movie releasing July 28, 2017.
James Gunn has already gone on record stating that Iron Man will not be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Gunn has also stated that it’s important to him that Quill is the sole human character in the film for the time being, so it’s unlikely Captain America will be popping up either. (Via)
As for Spider-Man, new Spidey Tom Holland (sorry, Andrew Garfield, up there in the banner picture looking all sad) recently revealed the film will primarily shoot in Atlanta. Could part of Sony’s deal with Marvel involve bringing some big names like Downey and Evans to the first of a new set of Spider-Man movies? It certainly would make sense, more sense than Spider-Man being seen anywhere other than New York City. And, hey, Downey already has all his furniture in Atlanta anyway. Being rich sounds awesome. Speaking of which, I think we know how Iron Man and Captain America will recruit Spider-Man…
