On Monday night’s episode of Gotham, Warner Bros. dropped some dusty new footage for Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. As we heard previously, this was forecasted as a “new look.” And that’s exactly what the studio delivered in a mere 30 seconds of footage, which was mighty telling.
As expected, the footage looks as baleful as the studio could muster with the action revolving around Gotham City’s vigilante and Metropolis’ savior. Yet that’s actually all we see here. There are no featured players, just the titular two with one in a very compromising position. The full new trailer will premiere on this Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, but for now, this clip provides much to consider. The footage provides an appropriate tease but perhaps does not accurately indicate how Superman will play out in the film itself.
Way back in July, we saw the first trailer from San Diego Comic-Con, and it’s hard to believe the momentum has continued unabated. The standard gloomy studio pictures (and there have been plenty of them) haven’t fed the flames as much as some clever viral marketing that revealed clues about Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor. This new footage functions as the promise of more to come.
Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
