Val Kilmer Weighs In On Ben Affleck As Batman (Plus More Batfleck Memes)

Last week we collected some of our favorite Twitter responses and photoshops about Ben Affleck playing Batman in Man of Steel 2, opening July 17th, 2015. Affleck wasn’t on our shortlist, but I don’t seem to have the rage others have for this news. Analytics firm Fizziology estimated 71% of the tweets about Batfleck within an hour of the news breaking were negative.

We’ve already mentioned a Change.org petition asking for his firing. Since then, there’s also been a petition added to Whitehouse.gov, which was later deleted (Thanks, Obama!). If that wasn’t strange enough, there was a mass suicide event scheduled on Facebook before being pulled for terms of use violations. One thing is certain:

But it wasn’t all negativity. At least a few big names recently voiced support. Val Kilmer, who played Batman in the horrendous Batman Forever (1995), tweeted this:

Did somebody say Val Kilmer and Batman?
