It’s become a yearly tradition; right before the annual Call of Duty release drops, a celebrity-packed trailer debuts to show off how much money Activision makes and how popular the franchise is. This year, they dial it back just a bit, following the legend of Kevin… a guy who’s really good at Call of Duty.
Admittedly, watching a shlubby guy wall-run, deploy illegal weaponry, and slide under a robot while sack-tapping it with a magnetic mine is surprisingly funny, but it is a bit distracting to have Michael B. Jordan show up as a Rod Serling-like cheerleader. You almost expect him to go into a Serling-like narration that ends with Kevin sucked into the game Tron-style.
As for the other cameos, well, you’ll just have to watch for yourself. Call of Duty: Black Ops III arrives November 6.
