These days, a new Call of Duty game wouldn’t be complete without a zombies mode, and it looks like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will deliver some of the most out-there undead-splattering fun yet. Zombies in Spaceland goes with a retro ’80s theme — complete with plenty of neon, leg warmers and a kicking new wave soundtrack.
Of course, Call of Duty isn’t the first series to do the tongue-in-cheek ’80s thing — Ubisoft already pulled it off with aplomb with Far Cry: Blood Dragon. Still, it looks like Zombies in Spaceland will inject a welcome bit of goofiness into the usually deadly-serious CoD universe. Here’s what Infinite Warfare developer Infinity Ward had to say about Zombies in Spaceland:
“Zombies in Spaceland is an all-new zombies experience where day-glow meets fright nights. It’s accessible for new players, but also has a deep layer of progression, brimming with Easter eggs and various game features that will be a blast for hardcore zombies fans. We can’t wait for fans to go hands-on this fall.”
As usual, Call of Duty‘s latest zombie mode will feature a ton of celebrity voices, including Seth Green (Robot Chicken), Ike Barinholtz (Suicide Squad), Jay Pharoah (Saturday Night Live, Ride Along), Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live, Inside Amy Schumer), Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee Herman himself), and David Hasselhoff (no introduction needed).
Zombies in Spaceland launches alongside Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on November 4.
