Peter Jackson has released the ninth video diary for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. This one covers the last of the post-production process with Jackson’s WETA team. They show aspects of the production including the animation sessions, foley work, totally serious motion capture involving beards, and the recording of Howard Shore’s film score. The video is below along with a few new posters and pictures.
They’re planning to finish production today, just 48 hours before premiering The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in New Zealand on Wednesday. It’ll open here on December 14th. It would have opened sooner, but they’re going to walk the reels to each individual theater and film the trek as filler for the next two movies. That’s how the last two Lord of the Rings movies were made, you know.
