Marvel has a fairly good track record of turning lesser-known properties into successful franchises, like with Guardians of the Galaxy or even Iron Man. Additionally, between Daredevil‘s success and the good buzz surrounding Jessica Jones, Marvel is definitely looking to ramp up their original content on Netflix. Luke Cage and Iron Fist are on the horizon, as well, but there is speculation that there could also be moves in the works to bring Moon Knight to the small screen. But at this point, it all feels very speculative.
In a recent interview with Collider, Heroic Hollywood’s El Mayimbe spills the beans that Marvel is contemplating bringing Moon Knight to Netflix.
Marc Spector, also known as Moon Knight, is essentially the Marvel universe’s Bruce Wayne, so Netflix seems like an ideal place for the rich, violent, anti-hero’s story to unfold. Plus, he’s also an avatar of the Egyptian god, Khonshu, so there would be plenty of dense mythology to unpack.
Like I said, nothing definitive has been announced, but it is an interesting thing to contemplate. Marvel built a wildly successful film based around a psychotic talking raccoon and a monosyllabic dancing tree, so crazier things have certainly happened.
