We knew the entire run of the original Batman television series was being released at some point this year. Now we can confirm that November is the ground zero for the classic series to get a release on Blu Ray, filled with extras and other goodies that every campy bat-fan should have. From Slash Film:
This fall, the show comes to Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download for the first time ever, thanks to the resolution of rights conflicts between Fox and Warner Bros. The set packs in 120 episodes, remastered in HD, with a suite of extra features. The set has been dated for November, but you can get a first look at the remastered Batman TV series trailer below, and the footage is as colorful and clear as you’d hope.
The trailer above also acts as a sizzle reel for a Comic-Con panel that will unveil more details about the set and the bonus features included. It’s sure to be something for every Batman fan that watched this, either when it was originally on the air or in re-runs, and doesn’t believe Joel Schumacher ruined the campy Batman for everyone.
If you’re in the other camp, I suggest stroking your copy of the Absolute Long Halloween and continue pretending this isn’t happening. It never existed.
